Prohibit Concealed Carry at your business.

According to the Illinois State Police [ISP] Requirements for Concealed Carry Signage, owners of any statutorily prohibited area or private property, excluding residences, where the owner prohibits the carrying of firearms must clearly and conspicuously post the ISP approved signage, in accordance with the Firearm Conceal Carry Act, at the entrance(s) of the building, premises or real property.  If you are not included in the list of prohibited facilities, you still have the right to prohibit the carrying of firearms.

Under HB183, there is an executive list where carrying firearms is prohibited.  The list of prohibited places include, but are not limited to: schools and child care facilities, colleges and universities, courthouses, libraries, government buildings, public playgrounds, public parks and trails, bars (and any restaurant deriving more than half its profits from alcohol), public transportation, permitted public gatherings (such as festivals or parades), museums, stadiums, and zoos.

Illinois State Police approved signage.

ISP has proposed rules which require 4” x 6” area with a white background, no text (except the reference to the Illinois Code 430 ILCS 66/1) or marking within the one inch area surrounding the graphic, and a depiction of a handgun in black ink with a 4 inch diameter circle around and a diagonal slash across the firearm in red ink.
